MACHINE GUN MATCH 1/09/05 TONY DEE
A very cold and wet morning greeted us for this match. I was afraid that we would have to cancel this month but Machine gunners are a hardy lot. A very short match was put together using the Texas Star target, now renamed the (DEATH STAR) Great fun for all. The shooter was also challenged with more steel and paper targets. The weather started getting worse so the range was set with a shorter match for the second run. We packed up early and were gone by 1015 hrs. Next month will be a SUBGUN MATCH on February 13th at 0900 setup 0800. Hope to see you there.

MACHINEGUN MATCH 4/10/05 TONY DEE
It was a very cold and windy morning but we subgunners are a hardy lot. A pin table was set up and the shooter had to start with a handgun and take 6 pins off the table before you grabbed you pre-staged subgun and assaulted the rest of the course which consisted of steel, paper and more pins. The second stage required the shooter to take seven pins off the table with a mandatory reload thrown in for good measure. A new concept on the team event was introduced. Two names were drawn at random and one shooter had to shoot 9 pins off the table with a handgun before his partner could start with a sub gun and take out several steel targets. This was great fun and we will do something similar for the next match. Next match will another 2 GUN MATCH You will need a CENTERFIRE RIFLE and a SUBGUN. Any rifle will do. Bolt guns, AK’s,SKS,AR15,M1A ,Lever actions too. Sight the rifles for about 65 yds. Match will be held on MAY 8th at 0900 setup at 0800.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 5/8/05 TONY DEE
A perfect Mother’s Day morning greeted us for today’s match. The shooter started with a rifle and had to engage 5 steel targets at the back of the bay at about 65 yds. A small clay target was also placed there and if the shooter hit it a 15 second bonus was taken from his time. Jason Davis and Tony Dee were the only two shooters that got the clay. The shooter then picked up his pre staged sub gun and engaged a wide assortment of steel and paper targets. The course was reset for the second stage in which the shooter had two shots to engage a small 4 inch steel target along with the aspirin sized clay target. Several shooters hit the steel but only Irv Falkoff got the clay. The shooter then took his sub gun and had to take out several steel targets. A two man team event was held after the main match. One member was armed with a rifle and the other had the sub gun. Names were drawn at random and the team member with the rifle had to engage 5 steel targets before the other member started with the sub gun. A bit of pressure was present for each member which added to the fun. The results were very close. Next month we will do a sub gun match at the 2nd small bay across from the overhang. This will be a very different match for us and all I can say is, bring your DRUMS and LOTS of AMMO. Match will be on JUNE 12th at 0900 setup at 0800.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 6/12/05 TONY DEE
A perfect morning for the last match of the season. A new format for this match was tried. The shooter started in a shooting box and with his Subgun took out 38 knockdown targets. There was no movement or no shoot targets just a lot of shooting. The second stage was also different. The shooter started with a loaded 30 round mag, and with one continuous burst took out a line of bowling pins. For every pin knocked over one second was taken off the total from the first stage. The average for this stage was 6 pins. Some shooters got more and some got none at all. A team event along this same format was held after the main match. Two shooters had to do the same course with the most pins taken out being the winner. The faster time broke ties. This will be our last match until September 11th (Patriot Day) Have a good summer and Congratulations to all the recently elected club officers. MACHINE GUN MATCH 9/11/05 TONY DEE
A very nice morning for the start of the new season. A Sub-gun match was put on with the return of the notorious RODENT TARGETS. In the first run the rodents all had to be neutralized without hitting surrounding good guys and pins. Several other targets had to be engaged also. In the second run the Rodents had to be spared and all surrounding targets had to be engaged. It was difficult and the shooter had to be very careful not to hit the no-shoot targets and incur penalties. A team event was held after the main match that was great fun. Next month will be a TWO gun match. All you need to bring is a SUBGUN, the other gun and ammo for it will be provided. The match will be held on OCTOBER 9th at 0900 setup 0800.
