MACHINE GUN MATCH 2/8/04 TONY DEE
It was a very cold and windy morning for today’s match. We set up a two gun match requiring the shooter to use both a handgun and machine gun. The shooter started with a handgun and upon signal to fire engaged a clay bird before shooting 5 steel poppers then a paper target hidden by a hostage. The shooter then picked up his pre-staged sub gun and engaged three banks of steel, paper and pin targets. The range was reset for the second run and all of the paper targets plus the clay target were eliminated. It was a simple course but several hostages were hit. (They were collaborators anyway). A team event was held after the main match that was great fun. Next month we will be having a special SUBGUN MATCH. We will have visitors from the UZI Board and special awards will be given to them. If you own an UZI bring it out as we would like to see as many as possible. Date for the match will be MARCH 14th at 0830 setup at 0800.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 3/14/04 TONY DEE
It was a beautiful morning for this special match. We were joined by several new shooters from the UZI Talk Forum that were in town for a get together. We welcomed these fellow shooters and hoped that they had a great time. A short three stage match was set up using a turning target along with a reactive hostage target. The shooter had to deal with these two setups first before moving to another stage where several steel targets had to be neutralized. The shooter then moved forward to another stage where shooting through a barrel had to shoot some pins, steel and finally a stop plate. The match was reset for the second run that was a bit easier. A team event was held after the main match that was great fun. Special awards were given for the UZI members and we hope that we see these nice people again next year. Our next match will be a THREE GUN MATCH. You will need a PISTOL, SHOTGUN and ANY MACHINE GUN. You can use either a Subgun, Assault Rifle, or even a Belt fed if you can carry it. The date will be APRIL 11th at 0900 setup 0830. Yes, I know it is Easter Sunday so we will try and move things along as quickly as possible. Hope to see you then.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 5/9/04 TONY DEE
It was a beautiful day for our two gun match. We started out with a staged Subgun that was pre-loaded. A rifle was held in the shooters hand in the low ready position. Upon signal to fire the shooter engaged 5 steel targets placed at the far end of the range. These were must hit targets and the shooter had to continue until all five were down. Then the shooter picked up the Subgun and engaged 3 banks of assorted targets. The range was reset for the second run with a smaller target added for the rifle which proved to be a bit difficult for some of us. A team event was held after the main match that proved to be great fun. Next month will be our last match before the Summer break. It will be a Subgun match held on SUNDAY, JUNE 13th at 0900hrs setup at 0830. See you then.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 6/13/04 TONY DEE
It was a beautiful morning for this last match before the summer break. Since it was Jane’s birthday, she designed the course of fire. As was expected she put together a very challenging match complete with the evil “Rodent” Targets and a great number of pins. It was a fun and fast course. A special comment must be said for the most dedicated and bravest shooter I know. Tom Wright just got off a plane returning from his honeymoon at 0800 hrs. He dropped his new bride off at the house and came directly to the range. Now that is what I call brave. We all want to wish him and Gail the best of luck. A team event was held after the main match that was different from what we had done in the past. It was great fun, but we will have to work out some details before we do it again. We will be starting up again on September 12th. I will post a reminder in the newsletter to advise everyone on what we will be doing. Have a great Summer.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 9/12/04 TONY DEE
A beautiful hot morning greeted us for our first match of the season. A multi stage course was set up using a swinging Hostage target along with several steel and paper targets. The shooter also had to get into a few awkward positions during the course. The course was reset for the second run and was made a bit more shooter friendly. A team event was held after the main match. Next month will be a THREE GUN MATCH. You will need A PISTOL, SHOTGUN AND SUB-GUN. The pistol portion of the course will be a bowling pin match. You will have to shoot pins off a table so a 9mm will be OK but anything smaller will not work. Bird shot only for the shotgun. No Buckshot or Slugs.Match will be on OCTOBER 10th at 0830 setup 0900 match. Hope to see you then.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 10/10/04 TONY DEE
A beautiful morning for our three gun match. A bowling pin table was set up for the pistol part of the match. 5 pins had to be cleared from the table. Several people had a problem taking the pin off the table. The pins would fall but not roll off. Copious amounts of ammunition was used to accomplish this task. The shooter then picked up his shotgun and engaged a popper that started a swinger that held 2 clays. The shooter had to break the clays as they swung in front of a hostage. The course was then reset for the machinegun stage. It was a challenging match for all. A team event was held after the main match. The next match will be a SUBGUN MATCH on NOVEMBER 14TH . Setup at 0800 match starts at 0900. Hope to see you then.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 11/14/04 TONY DEE
A beautiful morning for the match. This was a sub-gun match that had a great many paper and steel targets. The first part of the match required the shooter not to hit several hostages and no shoot targets. Several penalties were incurred by almost everyone. After the first run the range was reset and the shooters had the opportunity to really cut loose and hose all the targets. There were no survivors and a great deal of fun was had by all. Special kudos to Dave White who shot the entire match with no penalties or misses. A team event was held after the main match and it was great fun. Next month we will be doing something a bit different. You can shoot either a SUB GUN or an ASSAULT RIFLE. The course will be set up so both types guns can be used. There will be only two classes for this match so all types of sights will be shooting against each other. The date will be DECEMBER 12th at 0900 setup at 0800. Hope to see you there.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 12/12/04 TONY DEE
A perfect morning for this match. We did a combined Assault Rifle and Subgun match. The first stage required the shooter to neutralize five paper targets with one controlled burst. That proved to be both difficult and fun. The shooter then moved to other stages and had to engage an assortment of steel and paper targets. The Subguns had a slightly different course that also included a long controlled burst on pins. It was a fun course that everyone seemed to enjoy. A two man team event was held after the main match that was good fun. Next month we will be back to a SUBGUN match with a new electric oscillating target. The match will be held on JANUARY 9th at 0900 setup at 0800 Hope to see you there.
