MACHINE GUN MATCH 11/9/03 TONY
DEE
A very cool and overcast day for today's match, and a big surprise for all
our shooters. Phil Hermann had 25 Armor Steel knock down targets built for
our use. Phil paid for these targets out of his own pocket for our shooters
to enjoy. We now have targets that we can shoot any caliber at without
damage. I am sure that we will now see more exotic weapons come out of the
closet for use. The next time you see Phil be sure and thank him for his
generosity. The new targets were put to good use at this match as you could
use either a sub-gun or assault rifle. It was a simple match that proved
more difficult than it looked. There was only one shooting position for the
assault rifles and three for the sub-guns. All steel had to fall and a
copious amount of ammunition was expended to attain this goal. Next month
will be a SUB-GUN MATCH ONLY and it will be on Dec. 14th at 0900. Setup at
0800.

MACHINE GUN MATCH 12/14/03 TONY DEE
We had a beautiful crisp morning for today's shoot. This was a sub-gun match
and we started with a hidden hostage stage that had to be engaged before you
moved to another stage that had paper and steel targets. The shooter then
advanced to another position and took out some pins. The course looked easy
but every shooter ended up with penalties. Bob Shaft had the dubious honor
of the most penalties awarded in a single stage. The course was reset for
the second run as we wanted to beat the bad weather that was moving in fast.
A team event was held after the main match that was great fun and very
close. Next month will be a TWO GUN MATCH. You will need a HANDGUN and a
SUBGUN. You shouldn't need more that 50 rds for the handgun. Match will be
on JANUARY 11TH AT 0900 SETUP AT 0800.
