Several of us have discussed getting together at the hub-cap spot on Saturday, July 4th to celebrate America's Independence Day. This is your "heads up" if you'd like to get together and make some noise. It'll be hot so bring shade if you have it, sun screen, water, eye and ear protection. Any thoughts about having a BBQ?

I'll be there, with a few friends. If we can get a rough headcount, I'm sure we can pull off a nice BBQ.
So, who is bringing the tannerite? ;-)

I would like to celebrate the 4th this way, it's appropreate for Americans. This will be my first time and I'll need directions from near the club via 215. I would appreciate it. I'm up for a BBQ just let me know what the needs are.

basically you take the I-15 south to the sloan exit (exit 25 which is south of st rose pkwy by 1 exit) turn left at the stop sign and go under the freeway heading east about 100 feet until you T into las vegas blvd. stop at the stop sign and reset your trip counter on your odometer to 0000 and then turn right onto las vegas blvd and head south head exactly 6.1 miles south from exit 25 and you will see some small little green mile marker signs on the side of the road. The turn off is just after mile marker 12 and it will have a strange shaped liteweight sign. that looks like this www.panoramio.com/photo/15839991turn left and head east on this road. it will wrap around to the left and then it will change from a paved road to a gravel road. drive a bit further until you see the flag hanging on the post (it used to have a hubcap there and thats why it is called the hubcap spot, but i believe we have changed it to a flag) turn onto the dirt road at the flag and drive until you see the cars here is the google earth placemark - this is the exact spot we shoot at www.oldsrocketscience.com/dbs/dbsspot.kmzlat 35°49'37.98"N long 115°12'14.05"N if the google earth mark doesnt work please email me at 1919a6@(remove)cox.net ill have maybe 5 people with me - maybe more - tell me how much cash everyone needs to bring to help with the bbq. im in i am almost completely out of 9mm for the sterling and i cannot seem to find any wherever i go. if anyone has some and would like to play with the sterling, or would like to sell some reasonably please bring it looking forward to it!

It'd be great to have you join us Subgunner and Larry! You both know how to contact me for any additional directions or questions.
It's basically a bunch of guys getting together out in the desert and enjoying each other's company and shooting guns... Kinda' like the line shoot at Wickieup.
I'm in for the BBQ if I can help cover expences. I'll bring an ice chest with bottled water and maybe a couple of bags of chips?

i will bring sodas on ice for everyone, and i will try to get some hot dogs, and buns to help contribute to the bbq
if someone can post an estimate of what is needed money wise, or product wise i can try to make sure my guests come prepared with cash, or charcoal, or hot dogs, hamburgers, or whatever.
i think ill try and get some sunscreen packets as well cause im sure its going to be roasting
looking forward to the 4th

Ditto; I'm also willing to bring hot dogs, burger patties, buns, chips, charcoal, etc. I've got a low mileage propane grill, but I can't fit it inside my vehicle. If someone wants to volunteer to transport it from the Green Valley area (215 and Valley Verde), we'd be set there.
We're a week away!

I have an large Camo net set up I am thinking of digging out and bringing. If I can run to home depot today, I will get some fence posts and a 10' 2x4 for the center and we should be able to set up a nice eating area out of the sun. I have plenty of tables but everyone should be encouraged to bring chairs. Thoughts?

Sounds like it is going to be a great shoot. As far as what guests should bring, they should bring ammo, not cash. ;-)
I only let brass cased ammo through my M16, but the Uzi will eat anything except gunshow reloads.
I'll also be bringing to 50, and I will have enough ammo for that so that everyone can get a few rounds if they want.
