After several conversations with members here, it looks like we have the makings for a good sized shoot to start the year off. It sounds like many of us will have family, friends and co-workers in town this long weekend and many will be bringing new people. Let's make this a good one guys!
When: Thursday January 1, 2009 Where: Molly's for breakfast 9:00 for those who didn't party too much the night before. The "Hubcap" spot at 11:00 till ??
See y'all then. Happy New Year!

I'm looking to get my first suppressor, most likely for an AR-15 16". Does anybody plan to be at the New Year's Day shoot with one or more? I'd love to see a few in action, see how quiet they make things, and just get some first hand info from those with suppressors and their advice.

Sounds like a plan to me. I should be able to drag a few friends out there. I'm thinking a couple of bbq pits, a bit of a pot-luck setup... see if we can get a bit of the flavor of how we used to do things. Anyone have any tannerite laying around? -Caver

Anyone have any tannerite laying around? -Caver Great idea Caver! I think it's your turn to buy and there's still plenty of time left! Here's the link, and lucky you, it's on sale! www.tannerite.com/Welcome deblaw223! You never know who'll bring what, but I'm betting there'll be at least one there. If you've never heard a 5.56 suppressor, you may be disappointed. Much depends on your expectations.

Caver, I will pick up $25 of the case cost if you want to order it. I know everyone will chip in as well.

i got a new toy in its belt fed and shoots 30 06 if anyone might be interested in taking her for a ride, please bring 30 06 ammo (corrosive Korean is fine too, or even old lake city with corrosive primers - no problem) i only have 400 rounds and im flat broke now so my 400 rounds wont last me very long and i wont have any to spare. heck, my 400 rounds might not make it past tomorrow if you have some 06, or can go and buy some 06 - and want to play, it would be my pleasure to let you run the old girl im excited about this shoot - new toys are always so fun Mike

A big congratulations is in order! DAMN Perro... I may actually have a hundred rounds more of a particular caliber than you? I know it's a short term chambering for that gun, but still... you having less than ten K of any caliber is amazing! Most of what I have is the recent Greek import .30 caliber '06 ammo, and it's nice stuff. Sorry, I don't have nearly enough for sale as I'll be saving it for my Garand. I'll look around and see what I've got to bring. I know I've got a bunch of commercial loads somewhere. I've got surgery scheduled the morning after Christmas to have a tumorous parathyroid gland removed. It shouldn't be a big deal and I plan on being there, but I may be a little recoil sensitive. We'll see how it goes. My youngest daughter, who now resides in Phoenix, is coming up for several days to include New Years. She's bringing a serious boyfriend with her and he comes from a hunting family. I've met him a couple of times and really like the young man, and he's expressed a real interest in shooting some fun stuff. Depending on how hard they hit the town on New Years Eve, I hope to bring him along as my personal magazine loader and gun bearer. Molly's is probably out for me, and not due to the party animal I'll be the night before. I'm just not a breakfast sort of guy. I'd rather head straight out and shoot up an appetite. I'm very interested in what Caver has in mind. I'd like to hear more of what you've got planned with the twin BBQ pits. That sounds very interesting as sure I miss the good old days! Perro; I'm hoping this new toy won't deter you from coming to Sunday's Subgun match... 9:00 AM, and you have an official invitation. Ill try to remember to pack the pouch with all the Sterling mags so you can pick a couple and find one that works. I'm so sorry. That just plain sucks and I wish you'd said something sooner.

MAYBE? You'll go if Richard shoots? WTF? Look, I now I'm not as pretty as Rick, but I'll hold your hand and shoot your Sterling if that's what it takes to get your sorry ass out there. Man up and come on out. I promised you a good time at the match and I'll deliver. After you shoot the first one, you'll be hooked.

Caver; Here's a great alternative to Tannerite. Bring your own sledge hammer! ;D There's a vast difference in our cultures I don't yet understand, but I'm trying... www.liveleak.com/view?i=872_1228718217
